What we do

We swap the hard drive for a 1 TB SSD, install the system software from a USB drive and bring the console to the latest version. Your PS4 is then tested with a game installed on the new drive. Your account is set up again on first boot, so have your login details ready.

Questions about this fix

Will my saves come across?−

The new drive starts empty. If your saves are in cloud storage or on a USB backup they restore once you sign in. If you need us to back up the old drive first, tell us when you book.

How much faster is an SSD?+

Loading and menu navigation are noticeably quicker and open world streaming stutter is reduced. The processor is unchanged, so frame rates are the same.

Do I need an appointment to drop off?+

No. The Kings Cross workshop at Unit 2, 56 Tavistock Pl, London WC1H 9RG is open 24 hours, every day. Booking online just means the parts are ready when you arrive, and you pay after the fix.

How does posting it in work?+
