Questions about this fix

Can you recover my saves from the old drive?−

Sometimes, if the drive still spins. The system encrypts the drive to the console, so recovery has to be done through the console itself, and we tell you what is possible after testing.

Should I upgrade to an SSD at the same time?+

If the drive needs replacing anyway, an SSD is a sensible choice. See the 1 TB SSD upgrade.
