What we do

We strip the console, remove the heatsink and clean the old liquid metal from the processor and heatsink, checking the seal that keeps it in place. Fresh liquid metal is applied, the seal is renewed, and the console is reassembled and tested under load while we watch temperatures. The fan and vents on your PS5 are cleaned at the same time.

Questions about this fix

Why liquid metal rather than paste?−

The processor in this console was designed around liquid metal, which conducts heat better than paste. Paste can work but runs hotter, so we renew the liquid metal as the manufacturer intended.

Is liquid metal risky?+

It conducts electricity, so it must be kept off the board. We apply it in the workshop with the board masked and the seal renewed, which is why this is not a home job.

Do I need an appointment to drop off?+

No. The Kings Cross workshop at Unit 2, 56 Tavistock Pl, London WC1H 9RG is open 24 hours, every day. Booking online just means the parts are ready when you arrive, and you pay after the fix.

How does posting it in work?+

Book and pay online. We email you a free prepaid DPD label within 24 hours; pack the device with your booking number inside and drop it at any DPD point. We fix it, test it and post it back free, tracked.

What if it cannot be fixed?+

No Fix No Fee. If we cannot fix the fault you booked, you do not pay for the repair. Posted-in devices are returned to you.
