What we do

We remove the board, desolder the damaged USB-C port under a microscope and fit a new one, checking every pad. The charging chip next to the port is tested too, because a bad cable or charger can damage it as well. Your Nintendo Switch is charged, docked and tested before it goes back.

Questions about this fix

Why check the charging chip?−

The chip that manages power over the port is close to it and is often damaged by the same event, such as a third-party dock or a bent cable. If it has failed, we tell you before doing anything more.

Will it dock again afterwards?+

Yes. The port carries video to the dock as well as power, so a new port restores both.

Do I need an appointment to drop off?+
