Connect the DualSense by USB-C or pair it over Bluetooth, then press the PS button. Chrome and Edge on a computer show the pad straight away. Everything runs locally in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Connect the DualSense. Plug in a USB-C cable or hold Create and PS together until the light bar flashes, then pair it in your computer settings. Press any button so the page can see it.
Work through the buttons. Press every face button, the D-pad, the bumpers, both stick clicks, Create, Options, the PS button and the touchpad click. Each one should light while held.
Pull the triggers slowly. L2 and R2 report a smooth bar from empty to full. A bar that sticks, jumps or never reaches full points to the trigger sensor or a worn spring.
Run the drift and vibration tests. Put the pad down and press Test for drift. Then press Vibration test to fire both motors.
Stick resting off centre. Over 5 per cent is drift, the most common DualSense fault. Replacing the module fixes it, and a TMR module stops it returning.
A face button that misses presses. Usually a worn membrane or a dirty contact under the button. Both are a bench fix.
Trigger bar that jumps. The adaptive trigger uses a sensor and a small motor. A jumping bar or a trigger that feels loose means the mechanism needs attention.
No vibration. Check the browser first, as Safari and Firefox rarely expose rumble. Over USB in Chrome with no response, the motor or its connector is at fault.
Pad not detected. Try a different cable, a different USB port and a press of the PS button. A pad that charges but never connects has a port or board fault.
Stick drift leads by a distance, followed by triggers that lose their pull, charging ports that only work at an angle, and batteries that no longer hold a session. All of them are fixed at our Kings Cross workshop, usually the same day for a drop-off, with a 12-month warranty on the parts we fit. See the PS5 controller repair and upgrade prices, or build a custom PS5 controller with drift-free sticks from the start.
Drift, triggers, buttons, ports and batteries fixed on the DualSense and DualSense Edge. Kings Cross 24/7 or post it in.
Yes. The Edge shows up as a separate family and the extra back buttons register as additional inputs.
The Gamepad API only exposes the touchpad click, not finger position. A touchpad that clicks but does not track needs the console to test properly.
Press a button. Browsers hide a pad until it has been used. If it still does not appear, try Chrome or Edge and a wired connection.
No. The browser reads trigger position only. Resistance is driven by the game, so test that on the console.
No. Everything happens in your browser.
