We check the storage controller and the memory and power stages around it on the board, looking for failed components, cracked joints or a fault in the flash storage. The faulty part is repaired or replaced with micro-soldering and the console is tested through installs, long gaming sessions and restarts. Questions about this fix

Is this always a hardware fault?−

Not always. If it happens in one game only, it is usually software. If it happens across games and after a rebuild database, the storage controller side of the board is the likely cause, and diagnosis is free either way.

Will I lose my data?+

Not usually. If the flash storage itself has to be replaced, the console is reinitialised and your games need reinstalling, and we tell you before that happens.

Do I need an appointment to drop off?+

No. The Kings Cross workshop at Unit 2, 56 Tavistock Pl, London WC1H 9RG is open 24 hours, every day. Booking online just means the parts are ready when you arrive, and you pay after the fix.

How does posting it in work?+
