SCUF Instinct (Xbox) controller repair

We strip the controller and inspect the button contacts, rubber membranes and the board pads under them. Worn membranes and contacts are replaced, corrosion on the pads is cleaned off, and any physically damaged button caps are swapped. Every button on your SCUF Instinct (Xbox) is tested on a console before it goes back.

We open the controller and check the trigger spring, pivot, sensor and the motor where the controller has one. Worn or broken parts are replaced and the trigger is tested through its full travel so it reads from zero to full pull. Your SCUF Instinct (Xbox) is then tested in a game to confirm the fix.

We check the power supply or battery first, then the port, fuses and power regulators on the board to find where the power stops. Faulty components are replaced with micro-soldering where needed and the board is tested under load. Your SCUF Instinct (Xbox) is fully function tested before it goes back.

We open the controller and replace the port, or the small port board on controllers that use one, using micro-soldering where the port is fixed to the main board. The charging circuit is checked to make sure the port was the only fault. Your SCUF Instinct (Xbox) is then charged from empty and tested wired to confirm data and power both work.

We open the rear of the controller and inspect the paddle levers, the tactile switches they press and the board pads. Broken levers are replaced and worn switches are soldered out and replaced. Each paddle on your SCUF Instinct (Xbox) is remapped and tested to confirm it registers.

We strip the controller and replace worn button membranes, contacts and trigger parts in one go, cleaning the board pads and checking the sensors as we work. Every input on your SCUF Instinct (Xbox) is tested on a console before reassembly.

We open the controller, desolder the worn stick modules from the board and fit new potentiometer modules of the same type the controller shipped with. Both sticks are checked on a test rig for centring, range and circularity before the controller is closed up. Your SCUF Instinct (Xbox) goes back with the original feel.

We remove the original potentiometer modules and fit TMR (tunnelling magnetoresistance) stick modules, which read position with a magnetic sensor rather than a carbon track. Each stick is centred and tested for full range, dead zone and circularity on a test rig. Your SCUF Instinct (Xbox) keeps the same stick feel and cap height.
